DISC FILTER

Description

Shiva disc filter is a type of water filter used for removing suspended solids and other impurities from water. It’s often used in irrigation, municipal and industrial water treatment, and wastewater treatment. The technology was originally developed in the 1930s for filtering hydraulic fluid in B-17 bombers and later adapted for irrigation in the 1960s.

Our Shiva Disc filters are known for their efficiency, especially in removing a wide range of contaminants, including fine sand and organic matter like algae. They are particularly effective for high-flow rate applications. Compared to sand filters, they offer several advantages:
* Compact Design: Disc filters have a smaller footprint, requiring less space and civil work for installation.
* Water Efficiency: They require less water for backflushing, and the backflush cycle is often much quicker.
* Consistent Filtration: Unlike sand filters, which can have inconsistent filtration quality after backwashing, disc filters provide a consistent level of filtration.
* Low Maintenance: Automatic disc filters have minimal maintenance requirements and can operate continuously with little to no downtime for cleaning.
Our disc filters are used in various sectors, including:
* Agriculture: Drip and micro-irrigation systems.
* Municipalities: Wastewater microfiltration, raw water filtration, and water reuse.
* Industry: Process water filtration, cooling tower filtration, and pre-filtration for other water treatment processes like reverse osmosis.
* Marine and Oil & Gas: Seawater filtration.
